The company SIMONE was set up in the Eighteenth Century by the pioneer of the produce trade Mr Giovanni SIMONE senior, born on 10 April 1868. He was a broker of horticultural produce, such as almonds, wheat, olives, wine, table grapes and cherries. His son Mr Vito SIMONE, born on 17 January 1895, continued this activity.

The birth of Mr Giovanni SIMONE junior, on 8 January 1929, strengthened, improved and fixed the trade of fresh cherries and table grapes in the DNA of the SIMONE Family. Today, in 2007, we can state that the SIMONES, now organised in form of a Group, are a local company very well-known at international level.

Though the quantity of the grown, worked and marketed produce place the company at a low level in the world classification, as to the Quality it runs at the highest levels in the world. It is not a case that the phrase SIMONE QUALITY, coined in this sector and become of common usage, indicates a way of thinking and acting aimed to improve and promote the horticultural produce of TERRA di BARI.
